For accomodation during our time in Noosa we stayed at the Noosa Place Resort. We found it to be a great little family resort. They offer stylish two bedroom, two storey, fully self contained townhouses.Noosa Place Resort is a well established 4 star resort consisting of two bedroom townhouse style apartments which are fully self-contained with all modern appliances including dishwashers microwaves and fully air-conditioned. The resort boasts 3 pools, 2 pools gas heated and 2 hot spas in beautiful tropical surrounds and a tennis court. The resort is located half a minutes walk from the Noosa River, and is just near Gympie Terrace which offers some great Restaurants to dine in. Being located at Noosaville rather than Noosaheads means you can avoid the cut and bustle(and high prices) of Hasting Street of on the Sunshine Coast. However if you wish to visit Hasting’s Street it’s just a three minute drive, twenty minute walk or a short ferry ride away. Our family stayed here for 8 Nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids spent hours in the pool and we made lots of great friends with the other families staying in the neighbouring cabins. If you wish to book you can visit there Website, however we found it much cheaper to book via the Wotif Website.

As part of our recent holiday to Noosa we went out to Pilu Ristorante & Bar for dinner, the food was very enjoyable. The wine was probably a bit expensive, there was not much on the list for under $50 however we were able to order a pretty good pinot noir for $38. For Dinner we ordered pasta, I ordered a Squid-Ink Fettuccine, it was one of the finest pasta’s I had eaten in a long time. Marlain really enjoyed the potato gnocchi with goat cheese & Rocket. The kids were quite happy with a Ham & Cheese pizza and then we indulged in sharing two deserts!
Below is a review written by Carolyn Beaton
Pilu Ristorante & Bar occupies a prominent corner position on Noosaville’s Gympie Terrace, a bustling riverside precinct dotted with many fine restaurants. Pilu is no exception: though small, its modern take on classic Italian cuisine is big on style. It was awarded the Sunshine Coast’s best Italian restaurant in 2004 and is a finalist again in 2005. The menu changes seasonally, although favourites include chef Philip Scott’s specialty, gamberetti: an entree of fresh prawns grilled with garlic and chilli, served with spicy balsamic aioli, as well as a homemade fresh potato gnocchi with duck ragu. For those who would prefer something a little lighter there are entree-sized selections of pasta and risotto plus a range of gourmet pizzas to choose from. The comprehensive wine list features a range of over 50 Australian, New Zealand and Italian wines; or you can choose one of the Pilu favourite cocktails. Worthy of special mention are this restaurant’s wait staff who distinguish themselves as consummate professionals - offering guidance through the menu for the uninitiated, along with polished and attentive service. On balmy summer evenings sit outside on the patio tables and take in the river breezes. In the cooler months a cosy log fire draws patrons inside. Bellissimo indeed!

Your bingo numbers didn’t come up last night? I’m not surprised. Just when you thought you’ve seen it all on the small screen, television reached a new low when Channel Seven launched its deceptive and misleading National Bingo Night program. It’s the bingo night that isn’t actually a bingo night at all. A quick look through the terms and conditions reveals a totally different story. The show is pre-recorded and its only then that the “gamecards” used for viewers to mark off their numbers are printed to ensure that a set number of “winners” are generated. The promoters have used loophole’s in state trade promotion laws to avoid revealing the total number “gamecards” to be issued or made available, so the exact odds of winning a prize is unknown. But if you consider that one “gamecard” will be issued with every News Limited Sunday daily paper and that up to ten are available to download for every recipient of a Channel Seven signal, then we are looking at several million. Just 1002 prizes of $100 and one prize of $10,000 are to be won on the opening episode. Promoters refuse to reveal to OnThePunt the total number of “gamecards” issued, but we think you’re odds (assuming all “gamecards” are distributed) of picking up $100 being somewhere between 1 in 15,000 and 1 in 100,000. Our advice: don’t waste your time! — by OnThePunt.com managing director Mark Cridland

If you’re like me, you probably have already given up on commercial FM music stations and instead joined the Ipod revolution. The problem with this is that it does not matter if your music library has 5000, 10000 or even 30000 thousand songs in it, if you listen to it long enough it will begin to get repetitive and you will begin to crave new music.
So how do you find new music, sure you could read the music reviews, or follow the iTunes suggestions, but these can be time consuming and often misleading. So why not follow the method I have been using lately.
There are a number of Podcasts that deliver DRM free music to subscribers on a daily basis. Two of my favourites are:-
Triple J - New Music Podcast
KCRW’s Today’s Top Tune
These two Podcasts are created by radio stations that take new music very seriously. The files are in the MP3 format. And all have a BitRate of at least 125kps. If you know of any other Music Podcasts, feel free to suggest them to me.
Once you have started receiving music via these services the next tip is to move the music from your iTunes Podcast library to your iTunes Music library. This has taken quite a bit of research on my part but I have discovered a method to do this my modifying the files ID3 tags.
It sounds complicated but it’s not really. mp3tag - Univeral Tag Editor is a great free program for doing this.
1. Locate the mp3 file or files you want to modify using “File – Add Directory”.
2. Highlight the file or files and right click on them
3. Select the “Extended Tags” option
4. Under Metadata you will see “ITUNESPODCAST=1”
5. Highlight this and delete it, you will be left with “ITUNESPODCAST=blank”
6. Make any other changes to the Artist and Song name tags that you feel appropriate.
7. Save your changes, the MP3 file is now ready to be added to your iTunes Music Library.
If you have any feedback on this method please leave me a comment.

This is probably our favourite TV Show at the moment. Summer Heights High is an Australian comedy that airs on the ABC Wednesday’s at 9:30pm. The great news is that it also available as a Podcast. Hilarious, absurd and frequently shocking Summer Heights High reveals a world where small issues become huge, social groups are important, careers are built, young minds are moulded, hopes are shattered and dreams are realised.

Over the past twelve months I have become a big fan of Podcasts. Podcasting is a method of delivering audio content to iPods and other portable media players on demand, so that it can be listened to at the user’s convenience. The main benefit of podcasting is that listeners can sync content to their media player and take it with them to listen whenever they want to. Because podcasts are typically saved in MP3 format, they can also be listened to on nearly any computer, or burned to a CD Disc. While working all day in Earthmoving Machinery, I have lots of time to listen to podcasts. Click on this Link to read my reviews about some of my Favourite Podcasts.
The easiest way to subscribe to podcasts is to search by title at the iTunes Music Store or if you have iTunes, click on the Advanced tab, then select Subscribe to Podcast, then paste the URL into the dialogue box.

I have listened to a number of Podcasts relating to the subject of Digital Photography. Most of them struggle to convey what is a visual medium in the audio format. However Shutter’s Inc is a cut above the rest. Pro Photographer, Shelton Muller, brings a week by week digital SLR camera review, along with all kinds of photography tips and techniques. Bruce Williams does a great job hosting the show, and an even better job editing it to provide a high quality Podcast. Episodes are released once a week around midday Sunday (GMT).

This is my new favorite song, In Love by The Beautiful Girls is a fantastic song with a great beat and backed up with a big brass sound.
Listen and Purchase at the iTunes Music Store
The Beautiful Girls is an Australian band, predominantly playing roots music. They have released one EP, Morning Sun, and three full length albums, Learn Yourself, We’re Already Gone and Ziggurats. This electric harmony of rock, reggae, pop and folk has drawn comparisons with Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Mason Jennings and more recently The Police. The group have toured and supported with many notable bands including Rogerthat
