Wireless brings more than 1,300 Australian radio stations into one clean, native app. Find a station in seconds, keep your presets one tap away, and line up the radio call with the footy on TV.
Free public beta through Apple's TestFlight. Requires iOS or iPadOS 26, or an Apple-silicon Mac.
Signature feature
Love the radio call but watching the pictures on TV? When the television runs behind the radio, the commentary spoils every goal before you see it. TV Sync holds the radio back so the call lands with the picture.
Wireless shows both your selected delay and the measured delay of the live stream. Direct MP3 and AAC streams work best; the Sync pane explains when a stream can't hold enough audio.
Features
Wireless is built for everyday listeners — at home, at work, on the couch with the game on — who just want their stations to play, reliably.
Browse by network, capital city, region, state or National coverage, or search by name, network or town. Metropolitan, regional, community and specialist services are all here, plus selected New Zealand stations.
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth open with their top-rating stations in current ratings order, followed by every other station in that city.
Save stations with the heart button and drag them into your own preset order. Your first two favourites sit as quick-play tiles right on the player.
See the song title and artist when the broadcaster supplies them, including companion now-playing data for selected ABC, ARN and Nova stations. Commercial-break and technical labels are filtered out.
Delay the radio in half-second steps to match the television picture. Your chosen delay is saved. How it works ↑
Four levels of speech clarity — Off, Light, Standard and Strong — for talkback, news and sport on compatible direct streams.
Where a broadcaster offers more than one stream, pick the format or bitrate that suits your connection. Wireless remembers the choice for each station.
Background audio, automatic reconnection after a reception drop-out, and a deliberate Pause that is always respected.
Choose a duration and drift off. Wireless fades the volume over the final 30 seconds, and you can add five minutes without leaving the player.
A sleep timer that runs itself, every night. Set your active hours once and Wireless checks in with a soft chime. Tap Still Listening — even on the Lock Screen, no unlocking needed — or drift off and the station gently fades out.
Your player, favourites and recently played stations on the car's screen, with Discover for browsing networks, locations, music, news, sport and community stations. Favourites changed in the car update on your iPhone too.
Play and pause from the Lock Screen, Control Centre or headphones with station artwork, and send audio to AirPlay speakers through Apple's output picker.
Optionally start your last station as soon as Wireless opens. Off by default, alongside an optional Keep Screen Awake setting for the full-screen player.
A native SwiftUI app with a dark, focused player that scales from iPhone to iPad, and runs on Apple-silicon Macs.
Discover
Discover opens straight onto the directory, and the mini-player follows you everywhere so you can keep listening while you browse.
Community & Specialist covers Community, Religion, Foreign Language, Country Music, Indigenous, Arts & Music, Radio Reading, Youth & Education, Seniors and LGBTQIA+ services. The same destinations are available in CarPlay. The directory refreshes in the background, and the last complete copy stays on your device for browsing if the directory service is unavailable.
"Radio should be the simplest thing on your phone. Pick a station, press play, and it just works."— Why Wireless exists
Open source & beta
Wireless is free and its source code is public on GitHub. Its original code and documentation use the MIT Licence, and the Vocal Boost component retains the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Bug reports, accessibility improvements and station corrections are welcome.
Wireless is currently in public beta through Apple's TestFlight. Install TestFlight from the App Store, open the invitation link on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, and you're in.
Stream availability, regional restrictions, song information and TV Sync support vary by broadcaster and stream format. Broadcaster names, logos and programme information remain the property of their owners; their presence does not imply endorsement. Station directory information is based on Australian Communications and Media Authority information.
